Okay, so you don't meet this guy in the NGE manga until much later (well, the series I've collected seems to stop at volume 6), but he dies such a damn good death that I feel as if he should be given a mention! T.T It was so sad...! (PS: If there is silence, please turn up the volume on your speakers! 'Ode To Joy' is playing, but very quietly... and it's not my fault!!!) NAME: Kaworu Nagisa (spelling varies to 'Kaoru' among fans, but that only reminds me of the Kaoru in 'Rurouni Kenshin' and this guy is not a female kengo!) OTHER NAMES: Tibris (Angel Of Free Will), The Fifth, Fifth Children (don't ask about the plural) DOB: September 13, 2000 (Second Impact) APPEARANCE: Albino (pale skin, red eyes, grey hair), school uniform (same as Shinji's... hell, is that all he wears???), plug suit (navy and red) CHARACTER SUMMATION: Sent by Seele to NERV, Kaworu, like all other Angels, has a strong desire to reunite with Lilith. However, this would mean the end to humanity and he overcomes this desire through the brief friendship he forms with Shinji Ikari. Such a decision causes his tragic death at the hands of EVA Unit-02 (literally) and scars Shinji because Kaworu was the only one who truly understood him. PERSONALITY: My first impressions were that he was arrogant, but he likes to smile a lot (valuable lesson about smiling is learnt from Kaworu), he is quick to perceive (not when he's had, of course), friendly (perhaps too friendly), rather mysterious (probably not anymore...), tone-deaf (I've listened to four different voice clips where he's humming 'Ode To Joy' and I thought that he was in tune, lol), fan of classical music (hey, he also plays the violin!)
JAPANESE VA: Akira Ishida (this man is excellent at his job!) ENGLISH VA: Kyle Sturdivant (ahm, his voice is nice, but it sounds kinda preachy...) SPANISH VA (yes, there is a Spanish one!): Ernesto Lezama (nice!) (There's also a FRENCH VA, but the name is unknown - no sign of it on the end credits anywhere! Almost as good as Mr Ishida too! And don't you guys just love the way he says "Shinji Ikari" in this episode?!)
"I'm Kaworu. Nagisa Kaworu." (Japanese - beautiful pronunciation!) / (English - nearly trilled the 'r'...) "Ode To Joy" (Japanese - this was the best one) "Famous last words" (Japanese - damn, this man is so damn good at his job!) / (English - T_T) "The Controversy..." (English - well, what do you guys think...? ^__^ And they're taking a bath together in this scene!)
